"Buddy Baseball" Program

A new baseball program for “ALL” children.

"BUDDY" BASEBALL $50 PER PLAYER

Babe Ruth League, Inc. believes that every child has the right to participate in the games of baseball and softball, which is why we have a specific division for players with special needs:  the Buddy Baseball Division. To understand the name, "Buddy" refers to the buddy who helps the special needs player swing the bat, round the bases, or catch the ball.  Players can be age 4-18, and a buddy can be any age.  A buddy can be the player’s parent, sibling, friend, or even a volunteer. Buddy Baseball teams are usually comprised of players of all ages and the game is designed so that everyone has fun.

The Buddy Baseball Division opens up a whole new world to our challenged kids – not only do they experience the thrill of participating, they also get to experience team play and camaraderie.  Advancing the personal development of any child through team participation and kinship is an important step along the road to success and happiness.
The Buddy Baseball Division also helps our special needs athletes develop confidence and self-esteem.  It allows them to be part of organized sports and assists with physical fitness as well as their social skills.  We believe the Buddy Baseball Division is also a rewarding experience for those who volunteer to be “buddies”.

The smiles of our special needs players and their buddies will provide a welcoming glow for all. Heartwell Cal Ripken-Babe Ruth League is proud to provide this service to our special needs players, their families and our community.
